Sunday sees Torino host Roma, Lille take on Troyes and Como meet Parma. A look at form, standings and what each side needs to stay on course.
Mid‑season action arrives early in the calendar but the stakes are already high. Torino host AS Roma in Turin, Lille welcome Estac Troyes in the north of France and Como travel to Parma. All three games could shift the early table dynamics.
Torino sit fourth after a solid start, unbeaten in three games with two wins and a draw. Their defence has kept seven clean sheets in ten matches this season, a record that rivals the league leaders.
Roma, meanwhile, sit second with eight points from three fixtures. Their attack, led by a prolific striker who has already netted four goals, looks ready to test the Granata backline.
The match could be decided by midfield battles. Torino’s deep‑lying playmaker has averaged 1.8 key passes per game, while Roma’s winger creates chances at a similar rate. Expect a tight contest with both sides eyeing three points.
Lille occupy fifth place after a mixed opening week. Their home record is impressive, they have scored nine goals in two matches at the Stade Pierre‑Mauroy.
Troyes sit twelfth but have shown resilience, earning a point away from home against a top‑five side. Their defensive unit has limited opponents to an average of 1.2 goals per game.
Key to Lille’s success will be the partnership between their central striker and attacking midfielder, who together have contributed seven of the team’s ten goals so far.
Both clubs are fighting to escape the lower half of the table. Como sit seventeenth with just one point, while Parma are fifteenth after two draws.
Parma’s recent form shows a defensive improvement, they have kept three clean sheets in their last four games. Como, however, rely on a young forward who has already scored two goals this season.
The match could turn on set‑piece efficiency. Parma have converted 40% of their corners, a rate higher than any other side in Serie A at this stage.
"Every point matters this early, and a win can change the narrative for a club’s season," says veteran analyst Marco Bianchi.
